1. Speaker.

Music is one of the things that keep me going at all times whether I’m sad or happy. I have been wishing for a speaker for a long time now and never been able to get it. I would like one that is actually portable but with a good quality so that I can take it everywhere that I go. However I should warn you, I love hearing the beat of a song…

kiss of chocolate

Nothing says celebration like a decadent layered chocolate cake. Baking has always been one of my passions since I was 11 years old. This chocolate cake is always a hit at every family gathering.

Ingredients:

  • 3 Large eggs
  • ¾ cup butter or margarine- melted
  • 2 cups all -purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ warm milk

Frosting:

  • 1 tub of cream cheese
  • 100g unsalted butter- room temp
  • 30ml heavy cream
  • 3 cups icing sugar
  • ¾ cup dark chocolate powder
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cake-

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease two medium sized round cake pans. Line the bottoms with grease/ wax paper and grease.
  2. In a large bowl, sift the dry ingredients together.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla extract. Mix the batter with a wooden spoon until combined. Don’t over mix otherwise your cake will have holes in it.
  4. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-40 minutes.
  5. To test if the cake is ready, insert a toothpick into the middle of the pan. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. A single rectangular cake will take slightly longer to bake than two round layers.
  6. Slide a knife around the edge of each cake to loosen it from the pan, turn the pan over onto a metal rack and peel off the paper.
  7. Let the cake cool completely before covering with icing. For icing recipes
  8. For the frosting all you need to do is throw everything into a mixing bowl and all to mix at a high speed for about 2-3 min.

World Fashion Day…

Hi Lovelies

Happy world fashion day, I hope you’re all enjoying this day with your finest threads. So the sun has finally come out to play after what seems like the longest winter in history.

What does fashion really mean?

I know some people seem to think fashion has to cost you can arm and a leg (which isn’t the cas) or they simply just don’t care. My love for fashion honestly started after I watched the devil wears Prada. I don’t know what it was about this particular movie but it ignited a fire deep down inside of me, which I ignored for a really long time. There was also an episode of one tree hill that really inspired me. I am sorry I can’t remember what it was called but is based around zero is not a size. That was about the same time I realised that the curvy women could look just as sexy as someone who is a size 2 (no shade to smaller women).

That being said I motivated other women who were curvier to embrace their curves and rock whatever they wanted but I still couldn’t find my confidence. In my opinion you can have the most expensive, fashionable items out there but if you aren’t comfortable in who are and if you aren’t happy in your own skin nothing will ever seem right on you.

Fashion coincides with how you feel. You have to find what works with your body type. The sad truth is that we honesty can’t wear everything that’s out there. The clothing you wear should make you look and feel the best you. Be inspired by others but never try to copy someone elses style. Ps some fashion rules are meant to be broken so break a few rules and experiment

. I will be celebrating world fashion day with this beautiful little tangerine piece. Yes, fat girls do wear short dresses, deal with it…

Today I celebrate what my body is able to do and im letting the legs out. You better trust and believe that the melanin will be popping today.

H&M Make-Up

I am always in the market for affordable beauty products. I am not one to purchase products just because everyone is using it, I am all about value for money and products that work well for my skin. We all work hard for our coins so we need to make sure we spend them wisely.

2.All-Day Liquid foundation

Good foundations cover a multitude of sins, finding the right foundation can be costly and a stressful task. Why not try this incredibly affordable foundation from H&M. It has great coverage and a matte finish what more do you need? Side note if you have dry skin avoid this foundation at costs.

 2.Finishing Powder

I am not the biggest fan of powders, they just creep me out how they suck all                             the moisture out of your face and leaves if feeling all dry and gross. That being said this powder doesn’t leave my face feeling dry and looking flakey.

3.Cover-Up Concealer

Dear concealer where have you been all my life? I just recently started using concealer and oh my word it has been a life changer. My eyebrows have never looked better and my eyes are a hell of a lot brighter. I love how H&M also caters to us brown girls. The concealer is such a beautiful colour and has a great applicator.
